Subject: Re: Conjestive Heart Failure

It used to be that ferret texts gave maximum amounts for Lasix,
btu that has changed. I cna tell you that we have given much,
much more than that amount with fine results. With Lasix it
seems to be more a matter of whatever the body will bear. We
had one (of three who have taken it) who had problems with the
med, but otherwise the only difficulties have been beign sure to
have enough water handy due to increased thirst, and warming
food or mixing in something extra stinky when warmed like
Nutrical or A/d if the dryness caused by Lasix reduces the sense
of smell too much. Lasix can reduce sense of smell and that will
reduce eating, but it's a problem that is usually easily enough
gotten around by just making the food stinkier.
