Holy Moly, what a difference in price! I just went and pulled Champ
and Blaze's de-sexing records. They were both done on 10/10/97.
Champ's neuter was $27.50. Blaze's spay was $52.50. That's it,sum
total, iso, surgery, the works.

I know that was 4 years ago so the $50 is probably OK. No way would I
pay $150+ for a neuter. To my knowledge, it's no more complicated
than a cat. I will say that neither of them was descented. I guess
that would add some to the cost.

Oops! Just remembered Emma. She was spayed on 05/25/01. Her spay was
$62.50 but there was an additional $15 fee because she was in heat
(supposedly more risky). So, in actuality, my vets' prices haven't
increased in the last four years for this surgery. I think most vets
try to keep spays/neuter costs down. Mine sure have increased their
other costs.

I will also say that my vets are pretty expensive, as Russell can
attest to <g>.

BTW, as I recall, both Champ and Blaze were rarin' to go that very
night. It was difficult keeping them calmed down for a couple of
days. I think Emma was a total brat afterward also.

Good luck with your new baby. I've been reading about him on FOB.
