Subject: Re: false shedding?

BOTH Autumn and Spring are normal times for them to shed
and re-grow fur.

Please, use a cat laxative such as Laxatone, Laxastat, or others,
or plain petroleum jelly to help pass those fur balls. Fur balls
that get too large can require surgery. The commercial
compounds are all falvored petroleum jelly because it is
essential to use something that does NOT digest and which will
pass through while easing passage of the fur. Every few years
someone thinks that fats should "grease" things, but fats are
digestible and they are hard to digest so they actually slow
things down -- as a result not at all useful for furballs.

One intersting observation we've made during combing this year
has been that among our crew the peak time of shedding has
varied among individuals by as much as three weeks.
Individuals will be individuals.
