I was the one that sent you to that page, Debbie, because it sounded
like Brae might have this condition and I don't believe there is any
better general information on caring for a ferret with this condition
anywhere on the 'net. I see that Carla, who wrote that article, has
since responded and that should help some.

Unfortunately, this is a very difficult condition to manage, and I
seem to be hearing about it in ferrets more frequently than ever in
the past. I have no idea what that means other than perhaps vets are
becoming more knowledgeable about this condition in ferrets.

I've talked to two people (email) in as many weeks about this
condition in their ferret. Sadly, they have not done well at all.
One gentleman with a dog with this condition had a permanent feeding
tube inserted and fed his dog this way (a German Shepard!). This may
be a bit extreme and probably presents other problems.

Carla gave some good tips and we hope to hear that Brae does as well
as Magellan.
