Is there any way you could order ferret food over the internet? Ferret food
are specifically designed for the ferret's nutrition needs, and digestive
needs. Their digestive tract is very different from other animals, so they
require a lot of protien, litlte fat and carbs. If this is not an option,
I would try a very high quality kitten food (not cat food). Before ferret
food was produced, kitten food was widely used for ferrets. As for the
fruit, I do give mine some fruit here and there. They say not to feed too
much fruit, becuase of the sugars in them. But once or twice a week mine get
some banana or apple becuase they love it so much!
"What would you suggest about bathing a ferret? "
Some like it and some don't. Mine have grown used to it, they get a bath
every other week. Some ferrets even swim! Make sure to use a shampoo that
is safe for ferrets, you could get some over the internet as well at
www.theferretstore.com (Right everyone?) One big tip, put a mat in the sink
before you put the fert in, so they feel more secure when they have
something to grasp with their little toes while getting scrubed.
