Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Re: Sundance's blood test results....can
results....can anyone make sense of these....

Thank you Dr. Williams:

I had taken Sundance in for her Rabies test, but asked for an exam first
because I felt there wasn't something right with her. Nothing I could put
my finger on, just a gut feeling. She is still eating, drinking, and
pooping fine.

I got Sundance back in November, she is 3 years old, from a pet shop who
had taken her back from someone who bought their first ferrets there. She
was a bad biter. I trained her to be loving, she learned to play and what
being a ferret is. When I got her she would play about 10-15 minutes before
getting tired. She got up to about 1.5 hours of play time before tiring
out....but is back down to about 25 minutes now. So I worried about that.

She came to me weighing 1.5 pounds, got her up to almost 2 pounds by Jan
13....but was back down to 1.5 on March 2.

She just seems limp, lethargic, weight loss, and she has started to bite
again. She also has a look in her eye....not spacey or staring off into
space, but a look that just says I don't feel well...if you know what I
mean.

At the exam, my vet said her spleen was enlarged. So we did the blood work.
Hope that helps.

Tracy
