Subject: What else was it that I was looking up?
I JUST got my new reference on Herb and Drug interactions. I was
looking up a few herbs for folks for counterindications and conflicts
but I can only recall anise offhand. The new reference, _Herb-Drug
Interaction Handbook_ by Sharon M. Herr, RD who used 211 resources to
compile the handbook lists for anise one source mentioning no
interactions, two mentioning that large doses can interfere with
anticoagulants, that it is a phytoestrogen which may interfere with
some hormonal meds, and that large doses may interfere with MAOIs
(the meaning of which escapes me right now), and a third source
mentions a hypertension risk and sympathomimetics.
Life's slightly more than incredibly tense and busy right now, so
patience, please, and, please, expect to have to remind me of things.
