Subject: post op (neuter)

Hi,
I had my little boy castrated on Friday 11/09/01, as expected
after the surgery he was very sleepy and didn't want to play
with his sisters who missed him like crazy while he was at the
vets!LOL! He has now recovered and is the bouncy boy I've
always loved with one exception, where he was castrated is
very black, we are not sure if the incision was stiched or
quarterised,(there appears to be burnt hair in the area) and
were wondering if this black colour is normal. We are keeping
him clean and he does not appear to have an infection, neither
does the area bother him. So really this is just for our
peace of mind, is it normal for that area to be black after a
castration, if it is, is it indicative of which method was
used to stitch him back up so to speak, i.e. stitched or
quarterised. An answer to this question will put my mind at
rest, or result in another trip to the vets "sigh".
Thanks in advance for your help
Hugs and happiness and many crazy war dances
