Subject: Gastroenteritis and ferrets

Hi everyone! I am hoping someone can help me or at least reassure me.
Busy Bob (some of you may remember his story) has been having bouts of
diarrhea since last August. After several vet visits they put him on
clavomox and prednisone (.16cc, 2x per day). About a week ago his
stools starting getting loose again - so back to the vet we went. I
also did some research and found Dr. Burgess' article, which I shared
with the vet. So, we now have Busy on the clavomox (again), prednisone,
and Imuran (same dosage as indicated in Dr. Burgess' article - .9cc
every 72 hours).

His stools are getting back to normal (which is great) but he hasn't
really been eating alot (except Fruit Frenzy and I think he has an
addiction :)). I think that I can't give him nutrical because of the
gastroenteritis. Any other ideas on what to do or will he get used to
the Imuran and starting eating more on his own soon. He's getting kind
of skinny, but we aren't in danger territory yet. Also, he vomited once
on Sunday morning - I suspect that was the Imuran as well.

One other option - should I call the vet and see if they can reduce his
dosage?

Any help would be appreciated.
