Subject: Insulinoma: anyone ever notice?

Speaking of insulinoma, this is a question I've had for a long time, but
never asked. Has anyone also noticed that when their ferret is in the
tranced zone where they need sugar, that their paw pads and nose get bright
red?

Two nights ago my 7 1/2 y.o. Max apparently forgot to eat and became zoned.
He wasn't drooling or anything, but I knew because of his paw pads and nose.
I've had this happen with every ferret I've had that's had insulinoma.

What could cause this?
