Okay, two warnings:

Cigarettes/tobacco contain some dangerous compounds. I don't
know how many of those remain in ash (though I do recall tar
deposits in my mother's ashtrays and that is not healthy stuff, nor
is nicotene, nor are a number of other compounds in smoking
material) so I'd sure keep the ferrets and any second-hand
smoke, smoking materials or smoking waste far from each
other.

In relation to bags: they usually are safe but every once in a while
a person hears of a ferret getting stuck and smothering. That is
very rare; think I've heard of only two or three, but supervision
during use makes sense.
