Our vet has done successful adrenal surgery on eight year olds who were
otherwise healthy. Considering that some exceptional ferrets live to 10 or
more I do think it's worth considering if you and your vet think your girl is
strong and healthy enough to recover well from the surgery. I know that if
either of my seven year olds started having adrenal symptoms I would go with
our vet's best judgement. Of course, our vet is very experienced and a well
known ferret vet, and I trust him completely.
