That is wonderful to know! We were obviously given a can of the
old stuff because it does have those chunks in it which is why it
wasn't given to our ferrets. Thanks for the up-dated information!
I also found 8 in 1 to be very responsive when we got a moldy
bag of their Ultimate food one time -- very gracious, and they
tracked down the cause then let me know about it.
So far, I have read of four places that tracked down food
problems through the years to be more sure of a correction.
Three did it due to customer complaints (Totally Ferret, 8 in 1,
Marshall) and one did it due to their own stock becoming ill (Path
Valley with their past formula which has apparently also changed
since we last got it because it is now light brown and jack
shaped instead of dark and pellet shaped.) Following up on
customer complaints is a good sign. EVERY food manufacturer
has problems now and then; those are to be expected with ferret
food just as with human food. The places to worry about are any
which do not follow-through on customer complaints about their
foods, or which pretend that they never have problems or can't
possibly ever encounter a problem.
