My big old sweet guy Willard used to get yeast infections in his ears
occasionally. We were given Tresaderm ear drops for it, which
worked, although it was kind of a nuisance because it had to be given
twice a day for a couple of weeks. Willard typically had bacteria
growing in there at the same time, though, and I don't know if there
is anything that'll work faster if yeast is the only problem. That'd
be nice. Anyway, yeah, I think it is used in cats really commonly
too.
As I understand it, one of the things in Tresaderm is a topical steroid (Dexamethasone), which helps make things feel better pretty quickly. The ears usually look *lots* better and less painful in just a day or two with it.
