Subject: Re: vomiting at night
Hi,
Wanted to thank Patty and Sukie for their ideas about my little girl
that vomits mostly at night. It got me to thinking about her
situation. Nothing is really different in her cage, she is a loner,
so sleeps by herself. Same laundry soap used in her bedding in the
cage and in the room. But she definitely isn't active in her cage,
just sleeps. So, I remember Dr.Burgess just had a post about ferrets
GI tract, and loss of motility, causing vomiting and hairballs, etc.
Since we feed her chicken baby food with her meds around 8pm and she
is vomiting around 1 or 2 am (copious amounts with undigested food),
makes me wonder if the food is just sitting in her stomach, during
the day she runs around more, and maybe that helps with the motility
issue. She has gone through ECE about 3 years ago, so I wouldn't be
surprised if her GI tract has suffered in the process. Anyway, I am
going to bring this idea up with my vet today.
Thanks again for all your ideas.
Julie
