Subject: Re: lymph nodes & more

Fat is often MISTAKEN for enlarged nodes. If nodes are very
enlarged or tend to be protuberant ones for any reason then the
fat will be pushed out a bit more. We have had two with nodes
that just naturally are protuberant, one very markedly so but she
lived on for about 8 years; just their "look". Infection can also
inflame nodes. ANY ferret that gets fat will stand the chance of
depositing fat there. It's not uncommon in fat ferrets.

Brewer's Yeast helps those with diabetes, but is bad for those
with insulinoma. Its effect is in the wrong direction.

Have the stool checked for occult blood; black and tarry stools
can be from digested blood. If an ulcer is present then discuss
the other treatment options available with the vet and read about
them here by using the search feature.
