Subject: weird claw growth rate question, and apparent IBD update on
Scooter

--
Scooter had a down-turn with his apparent IBD so he's just this week
been started on Imuran; we'll see how he does. Today he's perkier.

Also, has anyone seen the claws grow faster with this disease?
Scooter's claws have been growing at an astonishing rate: about twice
as fast as before. He now needs clipping every single week while
the others need it every two weeks, and he sometimes gets it at less
than 7 days (like today) due to need. They are not thickening or
turning yellow as can happen with some disease, BTW, but they get
very long very fast and they split and catch on things more easily
than usual. We've never seen such rapidly growing claws. Even with
weekly trims the vet reminds us to do his claws and we have to say
that we just did his claws and we are always doing his claws due to
incredible growth rate in recent months. (Of course, they might slow
down again with the Imuran; hopefully, the wild growth of his stomach
-- in both thickness and size -- will slow. Unlike the claws that is
important.) Any ideas why this would occur? We've never encountered
it before.
