Subject: Urgent: heavy breathing/ wheezing& (pred ??)

Hi

Bandit's breathing has been heavy wheezy like for the last month or
so, vet did not pick up anything wrong with heart. He did a
echocardiogram?? not to long ago.
Bandit had his blood glucose tested and the result was 74 without
having administered the pred today. I stopped the pred temporarily
because I believe he was getting ulcers from it and his BG is
borderline, so I don't know if it's absolutely necessary, should I
continue with it if the reading continues to remain in the 70's??

Bandit had two wheezing fits today, and I immediately gave him the
laxatone for hairballs it seemed to help temporarily. His breathing
is loud and wheezing sounding lately, I'm not sure what's going on??
It almost seems like he's hacking but with a wheezier sound, what?
Could his weight be affecting his breathing- he weighed in a 3lbs
14ounces today, I also wonder how much of that is spleen cause his
tummy is very hard in one area...He had an ultrasound not to long
ago and the vet said the spleen was slightly enlarged but very
common in ferrets.

Help if I'm missing something here, if any of the vets could comment
as well.

Thanks,

Christina

I also put some drops of VetRex?? on the sides of his nostrils to
see if it helps.
