Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Blockage Questions

Hi Val
The creatine kinase (CK) is an enzyme that is fairly
specific for muscle damage. An IM injection can also
cause an elevated CK. The teeth grinding sounds more like
an ulcer. Is the diarrhea a black "tarry" like feces? The would
also go along with an ulcer. Of course a "partial blockage"
like a hairball could also cause an ulcer and GI problems.
If the barium x-ray is normal then I would treat him for
ulcers and see how he responds.
Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
