Have seen that from two things around here or in adoptees here:

1. Food dyes or food ingredients (like one chicken seller getting
golden meat and skin by feeding them marigold flowers in the
feed). Some of these can cause fur to go orange. There actually
was a breeder who for a while was selling orange ferrets that
just didn't stay orange when they'd be in homes for a while.
Turned out to from the food that was fed.

2. Skin oils. Have had some get very orange skin oils at times
and that can also stain the coats.

There may well be other causes.
