Subject: FYI: Ensure type products

Water, Sugar (sucrose), maltodextrin (dorn),calcium and sodium
caseinates, high oleic safflower oil, soy protein isolate, soy oil,
canola oil...

The rest is mostly vitamins. It's an ok treat & a flavoring if your
ferrets are used to it. But it doesn't provide animal fat or animal
protein.

Vitamins are available in a more concentrated form, and without the
sugar,in liquid vitamins.

Just know why you're giving it to a ferret. Don't add it to your
recipe just because "someone said" too.

Vets often prescribed Ensure type products as ferret diet supplements
back when there were no "good" ferret foods to make into soups for
ferrets refusing to eat their normal food. We've come a long way
since then. A/D is another "current" vet prescribed sick food. If
your ferret likes it, great, it's better than Ensure, but still not
as "good" as kibble soup.

Just because it's "the way we've always done it" doesn't mean it's
still the best way.
