I insist upon pain medication for my kids. My vet uses Torbutrol <sp>. I do
believe that appropriate pain control assists in rapid healing. In cases
where I have lost one immediately after surgery, I don't believe that the
introduction of a pain reliever had anything to do with it.
Ferrets are fairly stoic creatures and they may not always show signs of
obvious pain - I chose to make sure that during the initial recovery that
they are as pain free as possible. YMMV.
