I just wanted to update. I took D'Artagnon to the vet this morning
and the hard lump was a local reaction to the rabies vaccination.
Nothing more serious. She said that they always give the rabies
vaccination in that spot above the hip so that this can be noted, and
the lump could last up to 3-5 weeks but is completely harmless!
Whew! Best 30 second vet visit I ever had!
