Subject: Frusemide dosage?
Ok,,I dont mean to sound stupid here but what is IBD and what does
it do to fuzzbutts? Ive lost one to a mystery disease...one that
killed the babies nervous system to where her paws curled up and
wouldnt flatten out and to where she had lost all her strength to
the point where she couldnt hold up her own head. Ive lost one to
lymphosarcoma, one to insulinoma and one to another unknown disease
to where she was so lethargic she would make it from her cage to my
bedroom door and just collapse and end up staying there until either
I or someone else would move her. She was a kisser right to the end
but started out with dehydration, low sugar and the two vets I took
her to in the preceeding week could feel a mass in her stomach. If
anyone has any ideas as to what these two mystery diseases were
could let me know I would be appreciative. Also, if you could tell
me what IBD is I would also be appreciative as I got a lil guy here
now,,,,,hes just 6 mos old come December 1. Thank you in
advance....
Jade and Rocky......
P.S. I am including a photo of him and my sister.....take a look if
you'd like. I think hes just adorable but of course I am biased
with him. I think all ferrets are adorable but like any other
ferret owner....I think mine is the most unique and the cutest.
Thanks again.

Hello
My Jack as a tumour in his chest and also fluid in his chest and/
or lungs.
We started him on Frusemide in August and he got 5mg twice a day
to start
with. But the fluid is getting worse now and I usually half the
20mg tablet
and then pinch some off so he gets about 8mg. Jack's weight is
2kg so the
8mg are the maximum dose accorning to the books. But he's
starting to have
trouble with the fluid again, this morning he sounded bad an was
coughing so
what do I do when the 8mg are not enough anymore? He seems okay
with his
8mg, how much can ferrets tolerate? How do I know that he's not
tolerating
his dose? What side effects does the Frusemide have?

Hi,
Have you taken X-Rays is that how you know he has fluid in his
lungs?? My ferret Bandit had bronchitus recently and is still being
treated with chloraphemical for the inflamation in his lungs. He
did not have water in his lungs but if left untreated he would have
developed an pneumonia... I know the doctor also gave me an
antihistamine ?? chlorapheminine for the coughing and sneezing. I
don't know maybe you could run these things by your vet.
Hope Jack's better soon
