my ferret has a tendancy to eat my dogs food. Should I be worried?

We had this problem with our cats, the ferrets ate the cat food and the
cats ate the ferret food. We now feed the cats in an area where the ferrets
aren't allowed, (our kitchen is blocked off for them).
As an occasional treat I will give them a piece or two, but not very often.
It is best to feed them ferret food, it is designed specifically for them.
