Yes, we use several foods for several reasons, including this
one, and it has been a very useful process.

One note: if you return food then let the manufacturer know and
include all of the info from the bag (the codes that appear on
bags) so that the manufacturers can look into what went wrong.
Some will also have you send a sample at their expense. The
pricier ferret food brands do carefully follow-up on such
complaints and when there is actually something wrong they
correct it. I have seen both Eight in One and performance Foods
(Totally Ferret) follow-up on such problems. Years ago PV
(which had a different food then -- darker and pellet shaped but
made for PV) followed up when they had their own ferrets
develop health problems on their food. Following up is a GOOD
thing.
