Someone suggested:
" Or you can wait until the little one is so hungry that
he will eat pretty much what you offer. I know it sounds
cold, but I did it with a rescue. Be sure though that you
offer him plenty of water, and try not to wait to long
before you have top start force feeding him"

I have to disagree with this, though I used to do it.
Unfortunately I have found it lead to ulcers in too many
cases. Rescues tend to be way too stressed as it is. What
I do now is offer a buffet of 5-6 different foods, from
the junkiest cat food to TF. Once they pick something I
let them eat that until they settle in, and then start
slowly adding in my mix until it's all mix and no junk
food.

And I do mix foods. Not only because it is a good idea if
one food goes out of production, but I also had a friend
who lost several ferrets because the food was bad and she
didn't know it. The ones on mixed food were okay because
they weren't forced to eat the bad food.

Other health news here... I am treating one of my guys
with Lymphoma with chemotherapy if anyone wants the gory
details email me.

Oh, I also managed to lower a ferret that was becoming
diabetic (fasting blood sugar of 197) through herbs (last
fasting was 96). I will post more details once I have done
some more fasting levels.
