Subject: Adrenal Lupron comment
I have a comment on this question:

I would think that you can use Lupron without the diagnostic
test if you feel quite certain that adrenal disease is present
from symptoms - many people don't do the diagnostic test.
However - this is a caution:
If you feel that adrenal disease is present and you feel at
some point you want to do surgery - you probably shouldn't
use Lupron. Or at least quit using it for sometime before the surgery.
My vet tried to operate on a ferret that had been on Lupron -
Lupron shrunk the tumor/gland down so small he couldn't find
it to take it out.
I believe the normal recommendation is if your ferret is fairly young
and a good surgical candidate its best to take the tumor out. In the
long run Lupron would probably cost more for a younger ferret and
doesnt really solve the problem.
