Greetings fellow fuzzy lovers:

Many thanks to all of you that sent me words of encouragement and
comfort after my recent loss of Yoyo. We miss him something
terrible and actually wish we still had to seek out where he has
hidden his trophies of socks, keys, and towels. Punkin seems to be
picking up where he left off...I guess he must have been training her
:-)

The main purpose of this posting is to seek some advice for my oldest
buddy, Peanut. He's a 5 yo neutered male and had his right adrenal
gland removed about two years ago. Other than that, he's has been a
pretty healthy boy. However, I am concerned about a continuing
problem he has been having with diarrhea. This began about 4 weeks
ago (shortly before Yoyo fell ill) and aside from the diarrhea he
seems to be eating, drinking, sleeping, and playing just fine. These
kids have not been exposed to any other animals or ferrets, are caged
during unsupervised times and have free access to food (Marshalls
Premium) and fresh water. The only change we have made in the last
two months is their pan litter which is a non-clumping, multiple cat
formula.

I have read that someone had success treating IBD with whole pumpkin.
Although it sounds unusual, I'm willing to give it a try so long as
it's not going to aggravate Peanut's problem. So if anyone, or Dr.
Williams, is in support of this method of natural treatment please
let me know. Opps, I almost forgot one other thing I noticed this
morning is that Peanut's right eye seems to be irritated. It's not
watering or anything but he keeps blinking his eye, closing it when
he eats, etc. I'm guessing that Punkin may have scratched him when
they were rough housing yesterday. When I looked at it more closely,
it appears to have a small red surface irritation just above his eye.
I did wash and rinse the area this morning and will check on it
during my lunch break here in a bit. Any recommendations?

After reading the comments about treating ferrets with medicines
meant for humans I'm concerned about giving him something one of us
would use. I still wonder if the medications I was giving Yoyo may
have contributed to him developing additional problems that finally
resulted in his crossing the Rainbow Bridge.

As always, your help and input are appreciated.
