Subject: Starting on the Phenobarbital
Tigger will be starting Phenobarbital treatment for his neurological
seizures tomorrow and I'm supposed to wait 4 to 5 days to see how he
reacts to the treatment. My vet called the prescription into a
compounding pharmacy who is then mailing it to me overnight.
Lisa, you'd mentioned that your 30 day supply is cheap ($5 tops?).
I'm not sure what dosage or amount my vet wrote the prescription for
but the pharmacy said it is $35 plus shipping. Do you have your Rx
compounded? I'm just confused about the price difference. I'm not
concerned this time around, I'm thrilled to be getting him onto a med
that might help. I'm just thinking that I could save a lot of money
if this ends up being a long term fix. Mary, has your Rx been cheap
too? Maybe I'm just getting over-charged because they can.
Anyway, I'll post with an update on his seizures once we get onto the
pheno for a few days. He had 3 seizures last night and two more this
morning. (And I'm at work now.) I really hope this will help, I
hate seeing him go through this.
