I am not a vet. You really haven't changed anything with his food. All
of the brands you mention are chicken based. You want to change his food
to one that doesn't contain chicken or chicken by products. A fellow who
signs himself "shrinkray" on one of the other ferret list got good
results by giving his ferret pred and feeding him Eukanuba Lamb and
Rice. I believe Hill's makes one of their Science Diet products that is
hypoallergenic, maybe Z/D.
