Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] ferret crying out in sleep

Hello Deena:

My little Chewy would also make those crying noises in his sleep from time
to time. I always assumed that he was having bad dreams. I've had him
since he was Six (6) Weeks old and even though he's 7.5 Years old now and
currently has aliments, he has made these noises even when he was very
young and perfectly healthy.

He rarely does this anymore but when he used to cry in his sleep, I would
usually call his name softly and stroke him awake, and talk to him softly
too, so that he comes out of his nightmare gently. Then cuddle him for
awhile and put him back to bed. I figured that he was probably dreaming of
someone stepping on his tail or maybe even a giant foot that actually
ATTACKS back. Who knows?

Happy Holidays,
Mary
