Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Teeth Grinding????

Greetings:

Chewy's Vet gave me a quick fix for Chewy's teeth grinding, which as many
of you have stated, is attributed to stomach pain. He stated that the
dosage to alleviate the stomach pain should be .4 ML twice a day of the
following:

* 2 Pepcid AC Tablets crushed into a powder mixed with 10 ML of Water *

He also called in a prescription for Amoxcil for Helicobacter. I really
feel as though it's the Pediapred that's behind all of this. He only makes
the grinding noise after I give him Baby Food, which is the only way that I
can give him his Pediapred (he's a fighter!). He never had the teeth
grinding problem until after he started on Pediapred in November. I've
read that Pediapred and Ulcers pretty much go hand in hand when on it for
awhile but Chewy has only been on it for two (2) months. Can it really do
damage that quickly? I wish there was something better out there!
