Subject: petroleum jelly

Is it ok to use straight petroleum jelly (100% white petrolatum) as a
hairball preventative with ferrets? I've read elsewhere that it's OK
so I gave mine a small pea sized amount and he thought it was the
greatest stuff since Ferretone. So, 1)if it's OK to use, then how
much? and 2)Why does mine (or ferrets in general) like the taste???
