Subject: BJ has passed

After getting the bleeding under control yesterday morning, I rushed
him up for a transfusion. He got 10 cc from a donor ferret.
Apparently that is all they can give at a time.
He perked up a little, but bylate afternoon the thick, bloody stools
had started again. He was lethargic and couldn't walk. By 8 PM he had
bled out everything that we had put in. He was as limp as a rag doll.
My vet and I felt that there was nothing else that could be done for
him and we helped him to cross to the Bridge at 9 PM. He went very
peacefully, punctuating his death with yet another bloody bowel
movement as his muscles relaxed.

I didn't want a necropsy, or for blood to be drawn in his final
moments. He had been through enough. It is sufficient for me to know
that I did all that I could, and there are some things that you just
can't make better. I chose to let him rest in peace.

Thanks to all who responded with encouraging words and support.
