Michele,

This is one case where your vet's advice is NOT good. You will want to get
them their distemper vacs as soon as possible. Canine distemper does not have
to be transmitted via direct contact - it can be carried in on your shoes or
tracked in in other ways. Chances are they will never be exposed, but since
canine distemper has a nearly 100% mortality rate in ferrets, I don't think you
want to take that chance.

Don't forget that most list members recommend waiting in the vet office one
half to one hour after the injection in case your furballs have a bad reaction
to it.
