Subject: Distemper vaccinations of kits- vet and other expert input
sought

Dr. Williams, Dr Ruth, Dr. Murray & other distinguished FHL vets.

Currently NH is seeking the pet shops age of sale of kits to be moved to 8
weeks. The primary foundation of this request is based on both USDA rated
vaccines Fervac-D and Purevax are labled for use at age 8 weeks of age.

(Of course a side benefit that the kits would be 2 weeks older when
shipped, hopefully 2 weeks more developed & stable.)

In preparation of rebuttal I would like to know if there are any
disadvantages to waiting to vaccinate at 8 weeks in your estimation- or
rather if you feel kits being vaccinated off label at 6 weeks is an
acceptable risk.

PLease respond either to my personal email address
xtasyferrets@u...
or to the list. The hearing date is January 9th - so the timing is
icritical! We would be very happy to have any vet written statements in
support of this endeavor.

Thanks for your considerations & replies.
