I was in the same situation a few years ago. I chose to keep my baby
and get medical attention. I presented the pet shop with all her
medical bills (including those bills for my 2 other ferrets who became
sick because of her). The pet store reimbursed me for all the medical
bills AND reimbursed the total price we paid for the ferret (totally
unexpected). But it was worth it and I'd do it again if need be.
