Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Diarrhea

This probably falls in the "could-a, shoul-a, would-a" department, but...
When I adopted Rhodry & Brangwyn, the shelter mom & I talked extensively
about what food I was feeding Nevyn (my original ferret) and what litter I
was using, etc. To avoid problems, she gave me some of her food, and some
of her litter, with instructions to mix it with what I had. That way, for
as long as the mixed materials lasted, I could ease Rhodry & 'Gwyn into
the new diet (and they'd learn that my litter was litter, despite it being
different). She also told me that I should expect SOME diarrhea from
the new kids, as that was an expression of stress, and would last until
they got used to their new home & Nevyn.

Well, that's my experience anyway. I've only been a ferret mom for 3
months, so take it with however many grains of salt as you'd like.
