Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Fleas....Question

Hi Tara,
Advantage is a good product but even a better product to use to get rid of
eggs, larvae and adult fleas is Frontline Plus. It is applied just like
Advantage. Do you have fleas? If you are seeing them on the animals
,something to remeber is that fleas only spend ~10% of their time on the
animal and the other 90% in YOUR/ ferrets enviroment. A suggestion would be
to have the house professionally done. Most insect/flea ridding companies
have a gaurantee. If it doesn't work the first time they will re-do at no
charge.(call around to make sure) By the time you spend your time and money
on foggers and sprays doing the job yourself it costs what the exterminator
would have but without the gaurantee. If you do it yourself clean all
bedding, vaccum (throwing the bag away, eggs will hatch in there) a fogger,
and use a flea spray to get were the fogger can't(under furniture, beds
ect....)& apply the flea product you decide to use to the ferrets. I hope
info helps. KM
