Subject: Mikey, Steph and EE

Hey Steph,

Your story is oh so familiar. I went months trying to get Rinkydink
correctly diagnosed. She now has to be housed seprerately because I
dont
want her getting into any elses stashed food.

Rinkydink's case was very advanced when finaly properly diagnosed so
her
case is somewhat extreme. EE is essentialy an allergic reaction to
food.
She was put on a course of pred and switched to Euk, chicken and
rice. We
were of the believe it was the grain she was allergic too. That
worked for
a while and then quit working all together and she got very sick
again. I
took her off of all kibble and put her on chicken baby food only.
That
worked for a while and then time for vaccines came up and she got her
distemper shot.

Big mistake. Do Not get Mikey his distemper shot or rabies. His
disease is
a disease of the immune system and regular vaccs could aggravate it
to the
point of no return. I almost lost Rinkydink then as she then became
allergic to chicken and we played pure t hell getting her stabilized
again.

Rinkydink was put on feline zd at this time. She did well on that
for a
time but then she started getting sick on that also. Rinkydink is
currently
on canine zd and I supplement with ham baby food. She is also
on .1cc of
dex everyother day (stronger steriod than pred). So far she is doing
very
well.

I would supplement Frodo's diet with hand fed chicken gravy twice
daily.
He does not have a medical problem and the gravy would do him good.
I would
discuss supplementing Mickey's diet with a meat baby food he has
never been
exposed to before. The trick is to keep his diet as simple as
possible
ingredient wise while still getting him the nourishment he needs.
Your
post did not mention if it was feline or canine zd and if canine if
just zd
or ultra zd. Rinkydink's is the ultra zd.

You can also supplement their diet with derm caps, a fatty acid that
is
added to their food in drops. You can get that at your vets office
also.

Much luck. Let me know if I can help in any way. I have been thru
the
ringer on this one.
