Subject: Swollen prostate/Lupron

Since there have been a couple questions on this topic, I thought I'd
post a couple comments.

Lupron should help to shrink the prostate when dealing with this
problem in conjunction with adrenal disease. Propecia (or Proscar)
is often used in combination with Lupron to help shrink the
prostate. So if Lupron usage has resulted in a supression of all
symptoms except urinary difficulties, perhaps a trial of Propecia is
in order instead of increasing the amount of Lupron given.

I also understand that a prostate infection can be difficult to clear
up and may require from one to three months of treatment.

I'm not a vet so discuss this with your veterinarian.
