Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Ruby update
I was taught to empty Chip's bladder. While we were at
the dr., she showed me to lay him in a kind of
reclining position, press down with moderate pressure
to feel his bladder. If you can have two people, one
to hold them still, the other to put one hand on their
back, while putting light pressure on the bladder. It
did the trick for Chip. You could tell it was
uncomfortable as the dr. examined his abdominal area.
But, after she forced his bladder to empty, he had
renewed energy. I was told to force empty his bladder
at least once a day. After the changes I saw in Chip,
I would recommend this if Ruby is only leaking. Once
he has a "lightened" bladder, his bowels tend to
release as well. I take it as a good thing.
Good luck.
