Hi Katharine,
When I was contemplating microchipping my ferrets, I asked my local
ferret shelter some questions about it. One major con that I thought
about (and decided against microchipping) is:
If you lose a ferret, the finder must have a microchip reader. My
local shelter does not. Humane Societies would have to think to
search and find out that the ferret has been microchipped. Many do
not.
