Subject: Please help, vets on board? Rinkydink
Hey All,
I have posted about Rinkydink before on the fml. She has Eosiniphic Gastro
Entreitesis (sp?), diagnosed via biopsy. Dr. Williams confirmed the
diagnosis and the treatment except that he would not have placed any
restrictions on the type of food she ate.
Rinkydink recently had a distemper shot (approx 2 months ago) which seems
to have aggravated her EE to the point that we cannot get her stabilized.
She seems to be doing fine for a day or two and then WHAM!! Stools full of
gel like white mucus, green stool, throwing up, lethargy, no appetite.
Her medications included .5cc's flagyl twice daily, dicontinued 1 week ago.
.15 cc's amoxi once daily discontinued 2 weeks ago. .5cc's pepto bismal
twice daily, discontinued 2 weeks ago. .3cc's prednisone every day, once a
day, still on this. .15 pet tinnic to increase appetite. During this two
months she has been hospitalized for a mont, sub q'd and given several
injections of vitamin b.
The usual protocol is NOT working. Rinkydink is so miserable. Please, do
any of you have any suggestions? Are there any other alternative treatments
for EE? Or is this it? She is really suffering. Please help.
