I am a ferret mom of six and not a vet. Just my two cents on chewing
cloth etc.
I was reading the posts and it struck me when the comment was made about
"just feeling good to chew or bite on something." Perhaps this is a
good point.
I have had a ferret who chewed all sorts of bedding and such myself. I
also have a champion bowl digger and cage door biter. For whatever
their reasons for their behavior, I have been using both the foamy fries
and chew-n-bone products (sold on line at The Ferret Store). This seems
to keep them busy and for the chew-n-bone products cleans their teeth a
bit. I only use the foamy fries for ferrets who have no problems with
insulnomia.
To introduce them to these new products, I also dip the end with a treat
that you are comfortable giving them or ferretone or bite the tip a bit
to release a smell for them.
Good Luck!
