That was the name of the med I was looking for. Our vet (whom you know
well) leaves it for a last resort and has had very little success with
it, though he does say that it has really helped a few ferrets.
The good news is that after five days the pred seems to have kicked in.
Kodo is active and playful again and his blood glucose is low normal.
We'll keep monitoring him.

If that is anything at all like chemotherapy for humans I am not going
to subject an eight year old ferret to that. I want whatever time he
has, long or short, to be good for him. To me, at his age, quality of
life is everything. Thakfully he's doing better for now.
