Subject: Significance of Mold
Message-ID: <128.1d1112bb.2b2552e4@aol.com>
If this has previously been addressed, I apologize.
My question is, does moldy poop have any significance?
Now, I know that under the right conditions and given time, all poop will
mold. I am talking about poop that molds overnight - literally. As in,
clean litter box in the evening, and poop with mold growing the next morning.
This is happening with 2 of my ferrets. They have separate cages, so I know
which ones it is. Their cages are in the same room with my other ferrets,
they are fed the same food, and I use the same litter product in all litter
boxes. None of my other ferrets' poop ever molds before I clean the boxes -
just these 2. And, while it doesn't happen every day, it happens fairly
frequently. I know it doesn't come out moldy - yes, I have checked.
So, is this just a curiosity, or a cause for concern? Should I be discussing
this with my vet, or can I just ignore it?
Thanks for any advice.
Danee
