I'm looking after a 5 year old neutered ferret, Vicky, who's had insulinoma
for a year but so far her blood sugars were controlled with diet alone. She
never showed symptoms of low blood glucose until recently when she
developed severe low blood sugars and is now weak and wobbly most of the
time, worst after food. Would she benefit from insulinoma surgery or is it
too late for surgery? Anybody with any experience? Also, should we start
her on pred before surgery or is it best not to start it? My vets have *no*
experience with insulinoma surgery and the only surgery they have done on
ferrets is spays and castrations and exploratories... If any vets are
reading this, I'd appreciate help for my vets, how to remove nodules, what
they should watch out for etc.

Best wishes
Ulrike
