I am so sorry to hear about Scooter.
In the UK I think we see little of this problem, don't know why. I had
Nelson who I lost to an adrenal tumour back in April. He too was very itchy,
went besert with it. He had the tumour removed but never really recovered.
He died in his sleep about 3 weeks after surgery. Sorry I can't be of more
help.
